‘Reaction of the Tiger’ by Lex Lander

Reaction of the Tiger

Assassin André Warner is faced with a new challenge when the Syndicate order him to take out a female villain. Caught between his own moral code and his employer’s threats, Warner must work out the best way forward. But when his lover Maura leaves him until he gives up his murderous career, he must consider her future too, in case the Syndicate decide to act against him. Meanwhile, in England, a new love is on the horizon, but so is old MI6 pal Tony, who has a proposition for Warner – one that could land him in the path of double-crossing agents.

This is the fourth book by Lex Lander that I’ve read, and as before there’s plenty of action and gun-toting villainy, along with twisty-turny plot moves to keep us guessing. Though it’s a great story, it didn’t grip me quite as much as the previous books (End as an Assassin, I Kill and The Man Who Hunted Himself), but the denouement was more than satisfying and I’m already looking forward to the next book in the series – ‘Spanish Rock’. In the meantime, I’ve also got my hands on a copy of ‘She Kills’ which catches up with a character from ‘I Kill’.

An interesting review, Colin. I don’t think this is a book I will read but I enjoyed your review.

I can appreciate that, Robbie – lots of characters get killed in Lex’s stories, and quite often they’re not the bad guys.
